The God who seeks and saves the Lost POHFW

Preparing our Hearts to Worship

In an effort to help you prepare for the February 26th, 2017, Sunday morning corporate worship gathering and to aid you in your own reflections on our evangelistic call, I wanted to pose a few questions and provide a few resources to prayerfully consider over the coming days. Our sermon is entitled, “The God who seeks and saves the lost” The main Scriptures for the day is Jonah 4:4-11. The other passages are either referenced in the message or provide additional insight for reflection.

(Pick and choose from the many resources and options, which I have tried to make available for your devotional life.)

From the Scriptures

Read and prayerfully reflect upon some or all of these Scriptures. Ask God to shape your life and your church’s life to match the heart of God:

Read or listen to Jonah 4:4-11, Luke 15, Galatians 4:4-5.

(You can read or listen to all of these passages in a variety of translations at Bible.is.)

From the Creeds and Confessions

Canons of Dordt, Main Point 2, Article 5-7

From the songs, hymns and spiritual songs of the Church

To the ends of the earth: Lyrics, Video

I will follow (Tomlin): Lyrics, Video

Until the whole world hears: Lyrics, Video

Here I am Lord: Lyrics, Video

For Thoughtful Reflection, Prayer, or further Study

Read and Reflect on Jonah, the Evangelist

What things in your life hinder you from sharing the gospel joyfully with the lost?

What steps could you take to gain a heart for the lost like God’s heart for the lost?

The Sermon will be available online on February 26, 2017 at 12:30 pm.
