PRAYERS

Each week we pray for members of our church family. This week please pray for:

Jessie Figenbaum

Virginia Figenbaum

Karen Funk

Anne Geleynse

Darryl & Gloria Groothuis

Dan Grover

Suggested prayers are for their spiritual growth, opportunities to see Christ in their everyday life, and anything else that God puts on your mind for them.

Remember Deloris Perry and her family as they mourn the loss of her husband Dale. Dale and Deloris were married for 46 years and have three children and nine grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Hope in Christ Church on June 25th at 3pm.

Pray for the discussions and decisions that are taking place at Synod 2017. Synod will run through Thursday, June 15, in Palos Heights, Ill. Resources and topics for prayer can be found on the Synod Prayer Support page. crcna.org/synod/prayer.

Prayers for World Renew’s response are urgently needed as millions are at risk of starvation as famine threatens communities in Nigeria, Somalia, South Sudan, and Yemen. For more information on how to pray or donate, visit the World Renew’s website at worldrenew.net.

SERVE

Volunteers are needed to organize and run the church bazaar, which usually is held the 2nd or 3rd Saturday in November. Please let Terry Vander Woude know if you are interested in helping to organize this event.

Love INC is looking for volunteers!  Hope in Christ Church supports and values the ministry of Love INC.  If you would be interested in helping, please come to a training session on Thurs., June 22nd from 12:30-2:00pm at Bellingham Covenant Church. If you are currently volunteering with Love INC or would like to be, please plan on attending the training. This will be a great time of connection, training and support, review of Love INC vision and mission values, relational ministry, and some highlighted community resources for our education. Please RSVP by Monday the 19th to melissa@whatcomloveinc.org. This is a brown bag lunch meeting with dessert provided.  Hope to see you there!

ANNOUNCEMENTS

The Deacons wish to remind the church family that they are still accepting donations for our two mission events this summer: the home mission to remodel the Administration Building and the summer mission trip. When donating to either fund, please designate which mission trip it is for on the memo line of your check.

THANK YOU

“Thank you so much for the gifts and cards that I received from my church family. Your words of praise and thanks were very humbling and very much appreciated. I loved being the church secretary and now I am enjoying my retirement.”  Terry Vander Woude

Last week’s garage sale was a success! Thank you to everyone who donated, helped at the event, bought items, set-up, and cleaned-up!  Jen Roberts reports that nearly $4,000 was raised. Thank you!
