—MISSIONAL MARKER—

The congregation of Hope in Christ Church has made the Spirit-filled decision to move forward and become a healthy missional church. This week’s Missional Marker is:   Heartfelt Worship (Psalm 138:1a; John 4:23)

  • We exalt and celebrate God for who he is, what he has done, what he is doing and what he will do.
  • Worship reflects careful preparation to help give voice to many dimensions of response to God such as adoration, praise, contrition, lament, and commitment.
  • People leave worship knowing something more about the heart of God and about their own hearts.

— SERVE —

The Home mission / Office remodel project is underway!   Pastor Scott has finished moving his office from upstairs to downstairs.  Final touches on the pastor’s office are still being made.  The new downstairs administration office is still under construction.  It’s not too late to help or to donate funds towards the $5000.00 goal! More information about the plan and a signup sheet are available in the foyer.

Once again recruitment season is here for Sunday school teachers and Children and Worship teachers and helpers! Sunday school planning started early for me this year due to my trip to Nicaragua coming up in September, which also requires a lot of planning! The schedule for Sunday school is in August’s Heartbeat and also posted by the credenza in the foyer for you to see the available time slots. Let me know if you’d like your name to be in one or more of those slots or just go ahead and sign up! The Children and Worship schedule will be made once teachers are confirmed. You will be blessed by teaching our kids, and will be a blessing to them as well.                  Thank you,  Diane B.

— PRAYERS —

Please uphold former members and janitors, Jack & Elaine Faulkner, along with their daughters Geneva & Alana, in your prayers as they mourn the untimely passing of their son & brother, Jacob Faulkner July 23rd. The funeral will be August 8 at 11:00, at Christ The King Church.

Join Darlys in thanking God for the G.E.M.S. convention.  Please pray that all GEMS leaders who attended will continue to be blessed by their experiences at last week’s convention, and use what they learned as they lead their groups.  Darlys is thankful to all of you who have supported her, and asks that you would continue to pray for our GEMS program, especially as she is planning for the upcoming GEMS year.

For over 60 years, Open Doors has worked in the world’s most oppressive countries, empowering Christians who are persecuted for their beliefs. • Children in a learning center in Indonesia that has been forcibly shut down for “Christianizing Muslim Children.”
