Pastor
Family: My wife,
Jen, and I were married in 1996 and currently have 5 children, ages 3-10. We
are home-schooling Ellie, Morgan, Bekah, Zeke and Caleb. We hope to adopt
some of God’s image bearers in the coming years.
Lifestyle: We intentionally live a simple life including reading
books, working a garden (we hope to start one again upon buying a home in the
area), hiking and camping.
Dream: To see a multi-cultural, multi-generational body of Christ
committed to gospel teaching, prayer, fellowship and outreach by loving our
neighbors, reclaiming the arts, and caring for the poor and disenfranchised
all while living a posture of humility before God and others.
Hindrances to the Dream: In the words of G.K. Chesterton to the
question, “What is the greatest problem with the world?” His answer, “Me.” I
am the greatest obstacle to seeing God’s plans fulfilled in this world, yet
he continues to work in and through me.
What I am currently reading: Listening to God by John Ackerman,
Autobiography of Howard Thurman, Can you drink the cup? and With open hands
by Henri Nouwen.
Where we came from: Before entering parish ministry, God has used us
in hospital construction/maintenance and biblical literacy in Zambia, we have
served university students in Colorado, and have developed small group
ministries in our home churches.
