Psalm 42 Longing for God
NOTE: I inadvertently passed on a bit of misinformation in yesterday’s sermon in citing 60 as the Levites’ age-of-retirement from active duty in service in the temple and to which someone laughingly responded, thus setting this faulty statistic in many memories. Numbers 8:25 specifies that Levitical service related to the temple be a 20 year term, from 30 to 50 years of age.The retirement age at 50 nearly rises to mantra status in Numbers 4, where that specification is repeated seven times.
