Psalm 42 Longing for God

Psalm 42 Longing for God

NOTE:

I inadvertently passed on a bit of misinformation in yesterday’s sermon in citing 60 as the Levites’ age-of-retirement from active duty in service in the temple and to which someone laughingly responded, thus setting this faulty statistic in many memories.  Numbers 8:25 specifies that Levitical service related to the temple be a 20 year term, from 30 to 50 years of age.The retirement age at 50 nearly rises to mantra status in Numbers 4, where that specification is repeated seven times.  Thanks to the parishioner who drew my attention to this error.
