- Finding Nemo: The Risk of Faith
- Who is Obadiah?
- Name means ‘servant of Yahweh’
- In charge of Ahab’s palace (1Ki 18:3)
- Devout believer in the Lord (1Ki 18:3)
- Willing to risk himself secretly for God (1Ki 18:4)
- Walking & Relying on God isn’t always easy
- Often God leads us and asks us to do difficult things simply by trusting that the Word of God is enough
- Professing the Faith in a Pagan Land is Hard

- Obadiah isn’t being punished (1Ki 18:9)
- He is being called to further growth. (1Ki 18:8)
- This could cost him his life.
- Obadiah was being asked to give up his fear in order to follow God (2Tim 1:7)
- What will the risk of faith involve for Obadiah, the servant of God?
- Obadiah had to trust that the Word of God given through the prophet of God was true
- The Scriptures tell us that none of us is complete in ourselves but that we need one another
- As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another (Prov 27:17)
- Hebrews 10 reminds of us this truth in another way (Heb 10:19-24)
- Our calling as Christians is like Elijah with Obadiah.
- Our calling as Christians is to be like Dory with Marlin.
- Ultimately he is the author and perfecter of your faith.
