1. The Love of the World
   1. What do you love? (1Jn 2:15)
   2. What does it mean to love?
      1. Love is a sacrificial pursuit/service of one’s life for the benefit of another. (John 15:13)
      2. Love seeks to encourage, to build up, to strengthen the faith walk of another. [1Cor 13:4-8a Love is (insert in PPT)]
      3. Love will forgo things in order to not cause others to stumble. (Matt. 18:6, 1Cor. 8:12 )
   3. What is the world and the things of the world? (1Jn 2:2, 3:1, 3:13, 3:17, 5:19)

2. Why the Love of the World is incongruent with the Christian Life

   3. You have love for the Father (1Jn 2:15b)
   4. This world is passing away (1Jn 2:17)
3. Love for God
   1. Expressed in doing the Will of God (1Jn 2:17)
      1. Believing in the Son: (John 6:39-40)
      2. His Kingdom comes to earth – Mt 6:10,
      3. Delivered from evil – (Eph 1:4-5)
   2. Repenting of Living Life the way we want to live it and instead do what God wants (Mt 21:31-32)
