Friendship

Friendship logoOur Friendship program  nurtures the spiritual growth of men and women with intellectual disabilities in the context of personal and meaningful relationships. Friendship meets twice monthly on the 2nd and 4th Mondays at 7:00 pm (Check out our calendar to see when the next meeting will be.)

Here’s how it works:

  • Sessions often start in a large group with prayer and singing.
  • Next, a Bible lesson is shared, often in drama format. Occasionally group participation is included.
  • This is followed by small group time, where mentors and friends meet to discuss the Bible lesson, share, and pray together. Often this time includes activities related to the Bible study.
  • Finally, the group gathers again for social time.

We strive to keep a 1:3 ratio between mentors and friendship participants (though this is not always possible) and all of our mentors are background checked to ensure the safety of the group.
