      1. Yet, this story begins with an account of one man who fled the promised land and went to live in the country of Israel’s enemies
      2. Interesting historical information (Ruth 1:1):
         1. Time of judges (Judges 21:25, Ruth 1:1)
         2. Man of Judah leaves for Moab (Num 22-24, 25:1-2)
         3. Famine is in the land
      3. All the men die (Ruth 1:3, 5, 2:22)
2. Ruth’s Loyalty to Naomi and God
   1. The story’s first twist – Orpah leaves (Ruth 1:14)
   2. The Story’s second twist – Ruth stays (Ruth 1:14-18)
      1. Would others choose Christ because of their love for you?
      2. What are you being called to give up in order to worship God?
   3. Ruth works hard in a difficult situation (Lev 23:22, Ruth 2:12)
   4. Ruth obeys her Mother-in-law (Ruth 2:20, 3:1-4)
3. The Kinsman-redeemer (Gen 14, Lev 25:47-55, Ruth 4:1-6)
   1. All the blessings come true for Ruth (Ruth 1:9, 2:12, 4:11-12)
   2. And God is still doing it today through Jesus Christ
