The congregation of Hope in Christ Church has made the Spirit-filled decision to move forward and become a healthy missional church. This week’s Missional Marker is: Sacrificial and Generous Living and Giving (Romans 12:1-8)
- We help people discover, develop, and deploy their spiritual gifts.
- We regularly, graciously, and unapologetically teach on the importance of financial stewardship in the spiritual growth of the Christian.
- We have many examples of lifestyle choices being made on the basis of stewardship and the priority God plays in the lives of our members.

From Matt Smith at P92: a Special guest from Asia will be speaking with us this morning during the morning service, and then in a more in-depth manner during the adult Sunday school hour. He is the leader of a ministry in India of which about 200 workers (some supported by Hope in Christ Church) are a part. We hope that you will be able to join us for Sunday School today!
The GEMS Girls Club is having their annual theme night and sleepover this weekend, October 27-28, starting at 6:30 PM and ending at 9:00 AM. Our theme this year is “In His Steps.” Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did (1 John 2:6). Please pray that our hearts will grow as we learn to follow Jesus and live deeply aware of His presence, that we will change from the inside out. That our words, actions, attitudes, and even where and how we step will be transformed. And that our hearts will grow in love for one another and for the Lord.
Potluck Time: The fifth Sunday of the month means it’s potluck time! Please bring a large casserole dish, large salad or dessert, and stay for fun, fellowship, and good food. Bring your own table service. Beverages will be provided.
ActsNow -Christ for the Caribbean and Colombia: This conference is coming to Hope in Christ Church on November 4, 2017 from 10am until 3pm. The focus is on giving American Christians a view of how amazingly the Gospel is being spread, despite strong opposition, in places American missionaries cannot go. Come and meet unsung heroes of the faith! For more information, go to christianresponse.org/events. A special discount on tickets is being offered to us. Use promo code ACTSNOW.
We would like to thank our church family for the outpouring of love and support that we have received after Christine’s dad’s passing. Your kind and thoughtful words and cards, phone calls, visits, and food have all been so meaningful to us. We are truly blessed and we thank God for each one of you. With love from, Christine and Lanny and Aaron and Megan and kids
Thank you everyone, for your genuine gift of cookies for the funeral and for last Sunday’s gathering. It never ceases to amaze me your willingness to bring goodies when asked. We, the Hospitality committee, are very grateful and feel truly blessed.
Thanks again, Ruth
