Be Filled by the Spirit
(Ephesian 5:18)
To be “filled by the Spirit” is a big deal.
Being “filled by the Spirit” doesn’t mean. . .
To be “filled by the Spirit” means being under the influence of the Spirit

- God‘s Word commands us to be under the influence of the Spirit.

- The Spirit—the Comforter—is the absolute expert on spiritual life. He is . . .

- . . . the expert life-giver (John 6:63)
- . . . the expert teacher (John 14:26)
- . . . the expert power giver (Acts 1:8)
- . . . the expert guide (Col. 1:9-10)
- . . . the expert fruit grower (Gal. 5:22-23)
- . . . the expert on prayer (Rom. 8:26-27)
- To be filled by [under the influence of] the Holy Spirit we have to:
- Pray—ask the Father for the Spirit (Luke 11:13)
- Think—set your minds on what the Spirit desires (Rom. 8:5)
- Walk—keep in step with the Spirit (Gal. 5:25)
- The Upshot of the Spirit’s Influence
- Spirit-filled believers become Christ-like, love-grounded, and God-filled (Eph. 3:16-19).
- We are influenced by the Spirit in order to be influencers in our world.
