 - B/C God’s purpose is to relate to people and build up an obedient, live giving communion of persons on this earth.
 
 - Reminds the people that the Covenant requires Justice, the care of the poor is the way in which true religion is to be seen. (4:4-11, 5:14-15, 5:23-24, Jer 7:5-7, James 1:27)
 - Amos Announces ways covenant it violated (2:6-8, 5:10-12, 8:5, Luke 12:48)
 - Spell out the Punishment for violation
- Defenses overrun (3:11)
 - Nation and Kingship destroyed (3:13-15, 5:3)
 - Women will be taken (4:1)
 - Exile (6:1)
 
 - Hold out Hope after the punishment
- Remnant will remain (3:12)
 - Seek God & live (5:5-9)
