   4. B/C God’s purpose is to relate to people and build up an obedient, live giving communion of persons on this earth.
2. Reminds the people that the Covenant requires Justice, the care of the poor is the way in which true religion is to be seen. (4:4-11, 5:14-15, 5:23-24, Jer 7:5-7, James 1:27)
3. Amos Announces ways covenant it violated (2:6-8, 5:10-12, 8:5, Luke 12:48)
4. Spell out the Punishment for violation
   1. Defenses overrun (3:11)
   2. Nation and Kingship destroyed (3:13-15, 5:3)
   3. Women will be taken (4:1)
   4. Exile (6:1)
5. Hold out Hope after the punishment
   1. Remnant will remain (3:12)
   2. Seek God & live (5:5-9)
   3. I will rebuild (9:11-15)
