Youth Director

We Glorify God by knowing, living, and proclaiming our Hope In Christ.

We are looking for a dynamic person who loves teens and has a desire to see them grow in Christ.  This is a part-time position that we hope will grow into a full-time position through the leadership of the Youth Director.

Essential Youth Discipleship Duties

  • Preparations, planning, and implementation of a discipleship-focused, life on life Junior High and High School Youth Ministry consisting of.
    • Weekly Youth Meetings on Tuesday Nights from 6:30-8:30 p.m. (2 hours/week for 45 weeks/year)
    • 2 Retreats per year (Fall Semester and Spring Semester) (72 hours/semester)
    • 1-2 week Mission trip in Summer (if possible) (132-244 Hours/year)
      • Paid for 16 hours per day for up to 14 days plus 20 hours setup
    • Meet with youth as needed for counseling or leadership development (1-4 hours/week).
    • Oversee and improve the Prayer Partnership Program between Youth and Seniors (1 hour/month)

Personal Study and preparation (2-3 hours/week)

  • Prayer
  • Bible Study
  • Scripture Memorization
  • Maintain broad reading, seminars, podcast of theological materials

Additional Duties (2-3 hours/week)

  • Attend administrative meetings including but not limited to Staff, Elder and Council meetings when specifically requested.
  • Attend and become a member of Hope in Christ Church.
  • Keep detailed schedule and Time card to be turned in weekly.
  • Assist Hope in Christ’s Administrative Assistant with church’s digital and media presence.
  • Maintain adequate vehicle insurance and a WA Driver’s License.

Probation and Yearly Review

  • Probation period of one year from start of service with a six-month review and yearly review thereafter. Termination may happen at any point in the first year with 4 weeks notice.
  • Reviews will be completed by the senior pastor and Council President.
  • Position serves at the will of the Church’s Council.

 

Total: approx.. 760 hours per year or 15 hours per week.  Some weeks will be less, some will be more.

Hourly Wage: $20.00/hour minimum (more depending on experience)
