Israel’s unfaithfulness (Judge 3:7, 2:11)

            2. Evil things (Gen 3:6, 40:23)
               1. They forgot God!
               2. They served the Baals and the Asheroth!
            3. Application:
               1. When you have disobeyed the instructions of God, has your relationship with God improved or degraded?
               2. When you have prioritized your relationship with God, has life felt more full and vibrant or less?

God’s Response to Evil (Judges 3:8)

1. 1. 1. 1. 1. God gets angry at evil!
            2. Poetic Justice: Sold them into servitude
            3. Application: God is still the same yesterday and today (Heb 13:8)

God hears the Cry for Mercy (Judges 3:9)

A Savior Comes (Judges 3:9)

1. 1. 1. 1. 1. Deliverer is the Hebrew Moshiah (Dt 22:27, 28:29)
            2. God saved them through Othniel.
            3. The Spirit empowered Othniel to save Israel. (Judge 3:10)
            4. Application:
               1. Physical Deliverance sometimes. (1 Timothy 2:2)
               2. Spiritual deliverance, always. (2Sam 22:3, Isa 43:3, 11, 19:20-25)
                  1. Did you hear that? The oppressed gentiles will find deliverance in God who will save them.
                  2. God raised up a savior, because salvation is from God and no where else.
