  1. Who Am I? Developing a Biblical Anthropology
  2. A people loved by God (Psalm 8)
    1. Structural Signposts in Psalm 8: 1, 4, 9
    2. Humanity cannot be understood except in relation to God
      1. Insignificantly Small (Ps 8:4)
      2. Created (Gen 2:7)
      3. A People God Remembers & Cares for (Ps 8:5, Gen 1:26-27)
      4. Important Job (Ps 8:6)
  3. The problem: once sin entered the human race it spread like an incurable virus. (Gen 8:21, Rom 3:23)
  4. The Solution (Rom. 3:24-25)
    1. Two Groups in view: Jews and Greeks
    2. Salvation is for Jew and Greek
      1. By God’s grace as a gift.
      2. Paul highlights 2 aspects of the saving we need in Christ. (Rom 3:24-25a)
        1. First, is saving from slavery to sin.
        2. Second, the assuages the wrath of God
    3. This reality is experienced By faith. (Rom 3:25b)
  5. So what does it mean to be human?
    1. People of every tribe and language and people and nation are loved by God and need J.C. to save them from their sins so that they can worship the Lord in Spirit and in Truth.
    2. Anthropology can only be rightly understood in the midst of doxology.
