    1. Jonah responds like a sulking child who runs away from his father’s question.
    2. He refuses to answer (Jonah 4:2)
  3. God as one who sows in tears to seek and save the lost
    1. As Teacher to Jonah
      1. A Living Parable (Jonah 4:6, 7, 8)
        1. The Vine – Symbol for the people of God (Ps 80:8, Jer 2:21)
        2. The Worm – Symbol of death and judgment (Acts 12:23, Dt 28:39)
        3. The Wind
      2. When we ask God to sanctify us and grow us, are we ready for the kind of tact that he may take?
    2. As Exposer of Jonah’s Heart
      1. Asks him a Question (Jonah 4:9)
      2. God is trying to expose Jonah’s heart
    3. As Reclaimer (Jonah 4:10-11, Eph 2:13-16)
      1. God’s character is one of redeeming the lost, rescuing the erring, saving the sinner.
  4. Jesus as the Teacher, Revealer and Reclaimer
    1. Teacher (Mk 1:22)
    2. Revealer of the Heart (Mk 10:19-22, Mt 9:4)
    3. Reclaimer and Redeemer of the Lost (Mk 2:17, Lk 19:10, Lk 15, Gal 4:4-5)
