  3. Philip’s life, an example of intentional evangelism
    1. Wherever they went (Acts 8:4) they preached

      1. Tell the good news, announce, proclaim, declare
      2. The Word unites Jews, Samaritans, Gentiles, male/female, rich/poor, slave/free,
        1. Can it unite 1 Eunuch specifically excluded? (Acts 8:27, Dt 23:1, Isa 56:3-8)
      3. What is the Gospel
        1. Acts 2:22-24 for definition of “this word”
        2. Christ in all of Scripture (Acts 8:5, 35, John 5:39-40, Lk 24:27)
        3. Christ as Sheep to the slaughter (Acts 8:32-33, Isa 53:4-8, 56:4-5)

    3. Signs and miracles pointed to the power of the life proclaimed in Christ
  4. How to evangelize (for the average person)!
    1. Be in touch with the Spirit of God and his direction (Acts 8:26, 29)
    2. Ask Probing Questions based on what you hear them saying/doing (Acts 8:30)
    3. See if they bite and press in if they do (Acts 8:31, John 4:35)
    4. Proclaim Jesus (Acts 8:35)
    5. Let the Spirit convict and convert (Acts 8:36)
  5. Why does the Gospel bring joy? (Acts 8:8, 39)
    1. No more oppression – spiritual, physical.
    2. No more exclusion – welcome and embrace
    3. Rest from our striving, nothing more to add.
