   3. This psalm that is nicely divided into 4 parts
      1. The Predicament (Ps 3:1-2)
         1. The social political situation has become unbearable for David (2Sam 15:5-6)
         2. We can find ourselves in similar places
         3. So what are we to do when these situations come upon us?
      2. The Profession of Faith (Ps 3:3-6)
         1. Focused upon the actions of God in his life.
            1. God is my Protector (Ps 3:3)
            2. God is my Restorer (Ps 3:3, Job 1:21)
            3. God is my Answerer (Ps 3:4)
            4. God is my Sustainer (Ps 3:5)
         2. Therefore I will not be afraid (Ps 3:6)
      3. The Prayer (Ps 3:7)
         1. David confidently gives God 2 commands (Ps 3:7, 2Sam 18:9-15)
         2. The Gospel in Ps 3 (Ps 3:7-8, 2Sam 14:14)
            1. Jesus had more abandonment than any other (Mt 27:43 // Ps 3:2)
            2. Jesus had the assurance of God’s grace (Lk 23:43, 46 // Ps 3:5-6)
      4. Doxology, our communion cry (Ps 3:7-8)
