 Prayer Requests:

This week we are asked to pray for Marilyn Kaiser, Wilma Kelln, Don and Connie Knutson, Brian and Melissa Koning and their children, Lou and Ev Kooistra. Suggestions for prayers would be for their spiritual growth, opportunities to see Christ in their everyday life, and anything else that God puts on your mind for them.

We lift up Don and Tena Vanderpol, Paulino and Georgi Estrada and Don and Connie Knutson in prayer. Paulino, Tena and Connie are undergoing treatment for cancer.

Pat Bosman’s brother-in-law Nick Vander Veen passed away last week. Please keep the family in prayer.

What pure joy it was to watch the children of our church present the story of our Savior’s birth once again. They never disappoint and take the task given to them seriously and they add their own unique personality into the character they are portraying. I would personally like to thank those that contributed to the task of adding some costumes to the wardrobe closet for the kids. New robes, gowns, sashes, and head scarves were sewn by the following women: Anne Geleynse, Helen Bowman, Jen Roberts, Evelyn Kooistra, Joann Schultz, Terry VanderWoude, Bekah Roberts, Faye Hop, and Karen Smith. They really set off the costumes with some color and a bit more style. The kids were excited to have more to pick from. I’d also like to thank Bekah for assisting me with the program, Melissa for accompanying on the piano, Ali for pulling together the choir, and all the choir members: Rockelle, Tricia, Ev, Mike, Mark & Ali. And thank you to all who donated candy and surprises for the kids treat bags, and to Jennifer Boer for organizing the assembly of them. Your support means so much to me and I know I can always count on all of you. Merry Christmas! Diane

Anyone who wishes to participate on the worship team vocals, instrumentalists, sound, or power point are asked to contact Melissa Koning as she is working on a new schedule and this would be a great time to join.

The Council is looking for volunteers to be on the Admin bldg. remodeling project steering committee. This committee will help plan, estimate and organize the project. Please contact Michael Boer for more information.

The January issue of The Heartbeat, our monthly newsletter, will be available after Dec. 30. So articles and calendar events need to be to the church office prior to Dec. 28.

The church has received a letter from Pastor Tony and Esther Louwerse. The letter and a picture has been posted on the bulletin board.  Pastor Tony is a former pastor of our church.

The church office will be closed from this Thursday, Dec. 22 until Wednesday, Dec. 28 as the church secretary will be on vacation. All notices for the bulletin need to be in the church office prior to Dec. 21.

Pick up a copy of the year-end financial statement this morning. Thank you to Dan Obbink for putting together the statement.
