Some of The Promises of God to His people

In my preparations for this week’s sermon, I decided to create a list of some of the promises of God.  Here is a partial and incomplete list of the promises of God to his People.  I hope you find these an encouragement, comfort and aid to your prayer life.

• Promise never to leave you or forsake you or cast you away if you come to him. (Heb 13:5, Jn 6:37)
• Promise to come back for you (2Pet 3:9, Jn 14:2-3)
• Promise to give you the Holy Spirit (Lk 24:49, Acts 1:4, 2:33, 2:39, Jn 14:16-17)
• Promise to provide a way out for you from temptation (Heb 2:18, 1Cor 10:13)
• Promise to be your God, your Father and for you to be his children (2Cor 6:18-7:1)
• Promise Christ to you as the fulfillment of every promise he has made (2Cor 1:20)
• Promise of Life in Christ (2Tim 1:1, Heb 9:15)
• Promise of eternal life (1Jn 2:25)
• Promise of resting from our labors to find entrance to heaven (Heb 4:1)
• Promise of receiving the crown of life (Jam 1:12)
• Promise of being rich in faith (Jam 2:5)
• Promise of being an heir of the Kingdom (Jam 2:5)
• Promise of being a partaker of the divine nature (2Pet 1:4)
• Promise of a new heavens and new earth where righteousness dwell (2Pet 3:13)
• Promise to clothe, feed and provide for you (Mt 6:30-33)
• Promise to give good things to those who ask him for them (Mt 7:11)
• Promise of Peace (Jn 14:27)
• Promise to prune you to be ever more fruitful (Jn 15:1-2)
• Promise of Joy in Christ (Jn 17:13)
• Promise that if we search for Him we will find Him (Deuteronomy 4:29)
• Promise that His love will never fail (1 Chronicles 16:34)
• Promise that all things will work out for good for His children (Romans 8:28)
• Promise of comfort in our trials (2 Corinthians 1:3–4)
• Promise to finish the work He started in us (Philippians 1:6)
• Promise of peace when we pray (Philippians 4:6–7)
• Promise of abundant life to those who follow Him (John 10:10)
• Promise of new hearts and desires (Ezekiel 36:26)
• Promise of forgiveness if we confess (1Jn 1:9-10)
• Promises that our sins will be far removed from us. (Psalm 103:12)
• Promise that our sins will be buried. (Micah 7:19)
• Promise that all of our needs will be supplied. (Philippians 4:19)
• Promise of Wisdom to those who ask (James 1:5)
• Promise to make those who follow Christ fishers of men (Matt 4:19)
• Promise to build a church that hell cant defeat (Matt 16:18)
• Promise of the resurrection (Jn 6:40)
• Promise that God’s grace is sufficient in every trial we face (2Cor 12:9)
