A World Renew Disaster Response Services team is repairing homes in Rio Grande Valley, TX that were flooded in May and October 2015. Pray for safety, good health and a meaningful experience with opportunities to touch and give hope to hurting people in this relief ministry. Jerry H and Bud & Lorraine are serving with the team from October 28– November 18.

MISSIONAL MARKER

The congregation of Hope in Christ Church has made the Spirit-filled decision to move forward and become a healthy missional church.
This week’s Missional Marker is: Centrality of the Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16)

  •  We believe that the Bible is the only perfect rule for faith, doctrine and conduct.
  • Our preaching and teaching in all settings reflects careful preparation, relevance, and creativity.
  • Our people are equipped and growing in their ability to study and apply Biblical truth in ways that lead to a scripturally integrated life.

GIVING OPPORTUNITIES

The GEMS Girls Club is selling Butter Braids and cookies to raise funds for the GEMS’ regional Summer Camp at Lake Retreat, Ravensdale, WA. Order until November 27th for pre-Christmas delivery. The girls will be taking orders in the foyer. For more info, contact a GEMS member, or Darlys.
Double Your Donation to Help a Family in Need: Between now and Giving Tuesday (Nov. 28), you can double your gift to help a family caught in the crossfire of conflict in Syria through World Renew’s matching grant from One Day’s Wages (ODW). Give a $30 gift and see it doubled to $60, enough to feed a family of six for a month; or, sign up to fundraise for this campaign — raise $250 and ODW will match it to become $500. Go to www.onedayswages.org/worldrenew to learn more, donate, or start a fundraising campaign.
“Adopt” a Family for Christmas: If you would like to share your Christmas joy with a homeless family, New Way Ministries and Great Expectations again have their Adopt-a-Family program. They provide the ages and genders of the family and a wish list they made. You then buy the gifts for the family and bring them to New Way to be put by their door on Christmas Eve. Imagine the smiles and joy you will bring a homeless family on Christmas morning. To adopt a family, call New Way at (360) 354-9930.
Local Food Band Donations: The Deacons will be collecting non-perishable food items for the local food bank at the Thanksgiving service.
Family Christmas Baskets: Len and Terry Vander Woude will once again be collecting for Christmas baskets for families who rely on the food bank in the Van Zandt area of Whatcom County. If you would like to donate a small turkey, a whole chicken or any food items for the baskets, please contact the Vander Woudes. Donations are needed prior to December 21.
