Good Friday and Easter Services:  Join us this week (March 30) at 7:00pm for our Good Friday worship service. The service on Easter Sunday (April 1) will be at our usual time (9:30am), but there will not be Sunday school that morning.

The Story Cards for Children:  Children are invited to take a story card home with them today. The cards correspond to the chapter of The Story that we are covering each week. This Sunday, the card has an illustration of King David on the front, and 2 Samuel 5:4 on the back. Look for a basket with the cards at the back of the sanctuary every Sunday.

Outdoor Easter Sunrise Service: Start your celebration of Jesus’ resurrection by worshiping at the annual Whatcom County Easter Sunrise Service next Sunday, April 1, at the farm of Dan and Emily Gibson, 1613 Central Road. The traditional outdoor worship service starts at 7 a.m. and concludes by 8 a.m. to give worshippers time to get to their morning church services. Sit on hay bales on a hill for the worship service and afterward enjoy a breakfast of cinnamon rolls, hot chocolate and coffee. Please dress warmly with sturdy shoes as you will be walking through wet grass. Bring heavy blankets if it is a chilly morning. In case of rain, the service will be held in the big red hay barn on the farm. For more information, visit Barnstorming Blog athttps://briarcroft.wordpress.com/annual-easter-sunrise-service/.

Mission Trip to Omak: Two years ago, a group from Hope in Christ took a mission trip through World Renew. Would you like to join us if we go again? We are in the early planning stage for a one-week mission trip to Omak. Please contact Terry if you might be interested in going, would like to help coordinate the trip, or if you would like more information.

Heartbeat Newsletter: The April Heartbeat is available in the foyer. You may also find it online at hopeinchristchurch.org under the Bulletin/News tab.

The congregation of Hope in Christ Church has made the Spirit-filled decision to move forward and become a healthy missional church.

This Week’s Missional Marker:

Fruitful Organizational Structures (Exodus 18:13‐26, Acts 6:1-7)

  • We can articulate a compelling, Christ-‐honoring vision for our church.
  • We embrace evaluation as normal and natural and work through conflict constructively.
  • Our organizational structures are designed to be efficient at making decisions while at the same time building congregational ownership for those decisions.

Each week we pray for members of our church family. Suggested prayers are for their spiritual growth, opportunities to see Christ in their everyday lives, and anything else that God puts on your mind for them.  This week please pray for:

  • Vicki S
  • Kylie T
  • Donna V
  • Aaron & Megan S: Isaac, Thaddeus, Miriam
  • Roland & Esther V

Pray for Whatcom County:

  • Pray for the power of the gospel to go forth during Easter services and that many people, including children, would come to Christ.
  • Pray for God’s protection and encouragement for front-line nonprofit ministries such as Engedi Refuge, Lighthouse Mission, Rebound, Whatcom Pregnancy Clinic, Love INC, and others in our county.
  • Pray for healing in families in our county: pray for the Lord to pour out His grace and mercy on them.

  • Wonder Class:  Matthew 28:5-6
  • Marvel Class:  Matthew 28:1-7
  • Dive Class:  Ephesians 4:4-6
