Please review Chapter 31 of The Story this week. Pastor Scott’s sermon next Sunday will be based on scriptures found in Chapter 31, “The End of Time.” If you do not have a copy of The Story, please let Pastor Scott know today.

PRAYERS

Each week we pray for members of our church family. Suggested prayers are for their spiritual growth, opportunities to see Christ in their everyday lives, and anything else that God puts on your mind for them. This week please pray for:

  • Ginny F
  • Anne G
  • Darryl & Gloria G
  • Dan G
  • Mike & Geralyn C: Josiah, Abigail, Bethany, Aleya, Emma, Nathanael, Alexander

Pray for Christians in New Delhi: High-caste Hindus who have been harassing a church in Nepal forced it to shut down last week, sources said. For two months Brahmins, the highest caste from which Hindu priests and teachers are drawn, in western Nepal’s Palpa District had disrupted worship of the Pakhluwa Eternal Life Church in Palpa each week and accused pastor Tufani Bhar of converting villagers, the pastor said. Church members had abandoned their building and resorted to meeting in homes, but the Brahmins issued threats to anyone found meeting anywhere, including in houses. “It is shocking that we are not allowed to meet in homes and pray,” the 53-year-old Pastor Bhar told Morning Star News. (Morning Star News, Nov. 16, 2018)

From CRC World Renew: We praise and thank God for his faithfulness and mercy in our lives. We praise him for guiding us and for allowing us the opportunity to serve brothers and sisters in Christ around the world. Thank God for the generous support World Renew receives to sustain its ministries. May God bless all individuals, churches, organizations, and government agencies supporting this work in various ways.

MISSIONAL MARKER

The congregation of Hope in Christ Church has made the Spirit-filled decision to move forward and become a healthy missional church. This week’s Missional Marker is: Transforming communities through active compassion, mercy and justice ministries   (Micah 6:8)

  • We are burdened for the hurting people in our community and beyond.
  • We have identifiable pathways for compassion, mercy and justice ministries to take place.
  • Our people are equipped and growing in their ability to see and address the hurts and the causes of hurt in our community and beyond.
