The beginning and Firstborn from the dead (Col 1:18, 16)

1. 1. 1. 1. The church finds its start in Jesus
         2. As the Firstborn from the dead (1Ki 17:17-24, 2Ki 4:18-37, 13:20-21, Lk 7:11-17, 8:40-56, Jn 11:1-44, Mt 27:50-53)
         3. Jesus is the very first person to raise himself (Jn 10:18, Rev 13:8)

Jesus is the Preeminent One (Col 1:18-20, Esth 5:11)

            1. What is the fullness of God? (Ex 34:6-7, Is 6:3)
            2. b/c he is divinity enfleshed that He is also the Reconciler
         2. The Reconciler of the Lost (Col 1:20-22)
            1. To reconcile means to set opposing parties at ease with one another again.
            2. Jesus reconciles and changes people
            3. If you continue in the faith (Col 1:23, Eph 2:8-9)
            4. So rejoice, entrusting yourself to God in Christ.
