Our High Priest and his Better Covenant (Hebrews 8:1–2)

1. 1. 2 unique qualities
      1. Our High Priest is in Heaven
      2. He ministers in the real temple
   2. Seated at Right hand of Heavenly Majesty (Heb 8:1)
      1. Seated implies familiarity, completed work, rest (Mt 26:64, Eph 3:1)
      2. Seated also implies one has intimiate relationship with others around the table.
      3. Right hand implies honor and importance
   3. Ministers in the heavenly temple (Heb 8:2)
      1. True holiness is not something found on earth,
      2. True Tent God erected
      3. Not of the Levitical Order (Heb 8:4)
         1. A copy and shadow of the heavenly (Heb 8:5, 2Pet 2:6, Jn 13:15)
         2. Faulty (Heb 8:7-9)
      4. Under a better covenant with better promises (Heb 8:6)
         1. More excellent
         2. Better promises (Heb 8:10-12)
            1. The Mosaic promises were do this and you will live.
            2. But now God is promising to act unilaterally
            3. Law on the mind
            4. Written on the heart
            5. I am their God
            6. They shall be my people
            7. Know me (Heb 8:11)
            8. Merciful to iniquity & Not remembering Sin
         3. First Covenant is aging and ready to vanish (Heb 8:13)
