Bulletin – Week of March 6, 2016

We welcome you, from wherever you come, to unite with us as we approach our loving

Creator in a spirit of worship. Your presence enhances our worship experience.

Message: A Culture of Godly Leadership

 Scripture: Matthew 5:3-12

Offering: General Fund

Prayer Requests:

This week we are asked to pray for Anne Geleynse, Darryl and Gloria Groothuis, Carolyn Goble, Dan Grover, Jerry and Faye Hop, Jr. Johnson. Suggestions for prayers would be for their spiritual growth, opportunities to see Christ in their everyday life, and anything else that God puts on your mind for them.

We pray for continued healing for Lee Veenstra. Lee had been hospitalized for fluid around his heart/lungs. He was able to return home on Thursday.

Announcements:

The Lord’s Supper, which we celebrate today, is a way for the Christian to remember the sacrifice of Christ. If you have not yet believed in Christ as Savior, we invite you to watch and learn. We are glad you are here! If you have questions about Jesus, please see Pastor Scott after the worship service. The bread we use is allergen free and contains no wheat, dairy, nuts or soy. However, it may contain egg.

Our service next Sunday will be “Fruitful Organizational Structures” based on Numbers 2. Everyone is encouraged to prepare their heart for the message. The bulletin, which includes the songs of praise, is usually posted online by Friday afternoons and the monthly sermon topics with scripture are listed each month in the Heartbeat.

Please come explore the beauty of all that communion is this evening at 6pm for our next TAG (Talking About God) meeting. I originally intended for this to be a discussion about children and the Lord’s Table, but in doing my research, there’s so much richness in all that communion is, that we’ll do more of a broad overview on the historical context starting from 1500 BC, to the time of Christ, then another snapshot of the theological discussions/struggles in the 1500’s AD. I’m looking forward to a fun time of singing, a Ray Vander Laan video snippet, looking at a number of Scripture references, and good times coming to appreciate the depth of love that our Savior has for us.  Brian Koning
