Preparing our Hearts to Worship

In an effort to help you prepare for the July 29, 2018, Sunday morning corporate worship gathering and to aid you in your own reflections on theEmotions in the Psalms.I wanted to pose a few questions and provide a few resources to prayerfully consider over the coming days. Our sermon is entitled, “The Blessings of Knowing GodThe main Scriptures for the day are Psalm 16.

 Heidelberg Catechism Q57

How does “the resurrection of the body” comfort you?

A. Not only will my soul be taken immediately after this life to Christ its head,
but also my very flesh will be raised by the power of Christ, reunited with my soul,
and made like Christ’s glorious body.

Heidelberg Catechism Q58

How does the article concerning “life everlasting” comfort you?

Even as I already now experience in my heart the beginning of eternal joy, so after this life I will have perfect blessedness such as no eye has seen, no ear has heard, no human heart has ever imagined: a blessedness in which to praise God forever.
