BIBLE READING FOR THIS WEEK

Read through CHAPTER 19 of Believe this week as you ponder the following questions:

  1. What in this chapter spoke to me the most? Was there something I saw in a new light?
  2. What in this chapter draws me to live more fully for Christ?
  3. Is there something that I would want to share from my heart with someone who may not know Jesus as their Savior?

PRAYERS

Each week we pray for members of our church family. Suggested prayers are for their spiritual growth, opportunities to see Christ in their everyday lives, and anything else that God puts on your mind for them. This week please pray for:

  • Darryl & Gloria G
  • Dan G
  • Jerry & Faye H
  • Glenn (Junior)
  • Jay & Avis K
  • Marilyn K

Christian Reformed Church Prayer Requests:

(Back to God Ministries International) Indonesia—Rev. Arliyanus has become the new interim director of our Indonesian ministry. Pray for wisdom for Rev. Arliyanus as he steps into this role, where his main task will be to continue the search for a long-term ministry leader in Indonesia.

(Calvin Theological Seminary) Graduates— About 120 students will be graduating this month, including about 50 receiving certificates in our Spanish-language ministry and counseling programs. Rejoice with our graduates, their families, and all who have supported them. Pray for these graduates as they transition to ministry positions, further studies, or other opportunities God may have in store for them.

(Worship Ministries) Freedom—As Canada and the U.S. mark or prepare for national holidays (Victoria Day and Memorial Day), we celebrate the freedom to worship freely. Pray for the Lord’s people in countries that do not allow that privilege. Whether we gather in secret or in public, may we worship in the bond of unity through the Holy Spirit, knowing that Christ is Victor and King!

MISSIONAL MARKER

The congregation of Hope in Christ Church has made the Spirit-filled decision to move forward and become a healthy missional church. This week’s Missional Marker is: Fruitful Organizational Structures (Exodus 18:13‐26, Acts 6:1-7)

  • We can articulate a compelling, Christ-honoring vision for our church.
  • We embrace evaluation as normal and natural and work through conflict constructively.
  • Our organizational structures are designed to be efficient at making decisions while at the same time building congregational ownership for those decisions.
