The Joy of the Lord is My Strength

The Lord’s Supper, which we celebrate today, is a way for the Christian to remember the sacrifice of Christ. If you have not yet believed in Christ as Savior, we invite you to watch and learn.  We are glad you are here! If you have questions about Jesus, please see Pastor Scott after the worship service.

BIBLE READING FOR THIS WEEK

Pastor Scott’s sermon text for March 8 is Matthew 8:5-10. The sermon title is “Bold Authority.” We will be reading chapters five and six of Moving Mountains in preparation for Sunday school.

PRAYERS

Each week we pray for members of our church family. Suggested prayers are for their spiritual growth, opportunities to see Christ in their everyday lives, and anything else that God puts on your mind for them. This week please pray for:

  • Doug & Winnie K.
  • Lou & Evelyn K.
  • Herm & Ali L.
  • Chris & Jeanette McC.: Abigail, Kaitlyn, Anthony

Update on last week’s request for Mary Mohammadi:  Iranian Christians are pleased that Christian convert Mary (Fatemeh) Mohammadi has been released conditionally from Qarchak women’s prison, Varamin.  Iranian Christians are thankful that Mary has been released on bail and request prayer that:

  1. Mary will be encouraged and strengthened and recover from recent beatings and other emotional and physical distress.
  2. The hearing on 2 March will be conducted impartially and that Mary will be unconditionally released.
  3. God will convict those who abused Mary and others arrested and bring them to a place of confession and repentance.

MISSIONAL MARKER

The congregation of Hope in Christ Church has made the Spirit-filled decision to move forward and become a healthy missional church. This week’s Missional Marker is:  Centrality of the Word of God (2Timothy 3:16)

  1. We believe that the Bible is the only perfect rule for faith, doctrine and conduct.
  2. Our preaching and teaching in all settings reflects careful preparation, relevance, and creativity.
  3. Our people are equipped and growing in their ability to study and apply Biblical truth in ways that lead to a scripturally integrated life.
