Sermon outline

How, then, shall we live?

Let Brotherly Love Continue! (Heb 13:1, 10:34)

          1. Continue in brotherly love!
          2. Not only is this the first expression of the gospel in a person’s life, but it is the overarching exhortation under which all the others fall. (1Jn 4:19, 1Cor 13:7)

Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers (Heb 13:2a)

          1. Hospitality isn’t just the welcoming of a person at the door of your house
          2. Biblical hospitality is so much more (Phile 22, Gen 18-19).

Remember those who are in prison…and those who are mistreated (Heb 13:3)

Let marriage be held in honor among all and let the marriage bed be undefiled…(Heb 13:4, Eph 5)

Keep your life free from the love of money…(Heb 13:5a)

And be content with what you have…(Heb 13:5-6, Mt 6:30-33, Rom 8:31)

          1. God is helping us to be sanctified, not materially satisfied.

 Conclusion

          1. May the Spirit of Christ so fill you that these actions become second nature and people can’t help but see our good deeds and glorify our Father in heaven (1Pet 2:12)
