  1. Evangelism Mishaps/Fears Examples
  2. No fixed order, but all elements are needed
    1. 5 Elements
      1. Declare who Jesus is (Jn 1:36)
      2. Ask people “What they are seeking?” (Jn 1:38)
      3. Invite people into your life, practice Hospitality (Jn 1:39)
      4. Realize that sharing about our encounters with Jesus is natural (Jn 1:41)
      5. Let Jesus change you (Jn 1:42)
    2. Imagine forgetting an element
  3. What does the Gospel teach us about sharing our faith?
    1. Declare who Jesus is (Jn 1:36)
      1. It is imperative in the evangelism or proclamation phase of the gospel that we clearly articulate who Jesus is.
      2. JBap
        1. Calls people to stop and pay attention, to take notice of The Lamb of God.
        2. The Lamb (Jn 1:29, Lev 4:32, 1:10ff)
    2. Ask people “What they are seeking?” (Jn 1:38)
      1. Understanding what a person wants/seeks/longs for will allow us to understand how to proclaim Jesus to them.
    3. Invite people into your life, practice Hospitality (Jn 1:39)
      1. Application 1: Hospitality and opening our homes is what leads to relationship and the ability to minister to those who are curious and maybe even afraid to ask their questions yet, but will ask with time
      2. Application 2: We must have margin in our life and schedule and make space for the “intrusions” of life which are actually divine appointments to ministry
      3. Do you have space in your schedule?
      4. Do you know any non-believers?
    4. Realize that sharing about our encounters with Jesus is natural (Jn 1:41)
    5. Let Jesus change you (Jn 1:42)
      1. First is that it isn’t your job to change people, or convert them, or convince them, you simple get to bring them to Jesus and he is the one who will interact and take it from there.
      2. Second, remember that part of the proclamation process is letting Jesus change you.
  4. There you have it the 5 element of successfully proclaiming Christ
    1. May you integrate these into your life and become more fruitful in proclaiming the hope you have in Jesus.
