- What are God’s promises to us? (Heb 4:1, 9:15, Gal 5:1, Tit 1:2, 1Jn 2:25, Jam 1:12, Acts 1:4, 2:33, Jn 24:49, 2Cor 6:16-18, 2Pet 3:13)
- God has made promises to us and we are actively believe them.

- Promises, Swearing and oaths
- Promises are words that assure someone that you are going to do something.
- Swearing/Oaths are appeals/declarations that one’s words are trustworthy and true.

We can trust God’s promises

- We have many things to aid us in trusting
- Like Abraham, we have the Promises of God and his oath
- But we also have Abraham’s story along with many other stories of God fulfilling his promises
- All of these confirm to us the veracity and truth of the Father’s words and promises.
- God’s Promises are Anchors (Heb 6:19a)
- God’s Promises assure of of winning (Heb 6:19b-20a, 2Cor 1:20, 7:1)
- God’s Promises are connected to a new and better priesthood (Heb 6:20b)
- We have many things to aid us in trusting

- What does all of this practically mean for us?
- The promises of God are not just well wishing, hopeful accolades that may or may not occur.
- Practicing sabbath
- Ask yourself some simple questions about the promises of God.
- Which promises do I find hardest to believe and trust?
- Why is it so hard for me to believe and trust this?
- What steps can I take to imitate the faith of those who do believe in this promise?
